Supraphon is the best known record label from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Its LPs are still treasured for their rare repertoire, as much of the Supraphon archive has yet to be reissued on CD. They have though restored to CD the unique legacy of conductors Karel Ancerl and Vaclav Talich. While their recordings of Czech music, by Czech musicians constitutes one of the great glories in the history of sound recording. Here are the Czech "greats" from previous eras, and now, alongside them a new generation of musicians who will ensure that Supraphon remains one of the most respected of all record labels.
