Paraclete Press

You will not find any Czech or Slovakian music on the Praclete Press label.  This well known American publishing house is noted for its wide range of books on religious thought from many faiths.  Its CDs are devoted to recordings by the choral group Gloriæ Dei Cantores.  Under the direction of Elizabeth Patterson they cover a vast musical terrain from simple Chants, to Palestrina and works by contemporary composers.  The choir is based in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and their recordings are made in the Church of the Transfiguration, completed in 2000, or in the historic Mechanics Hall in Worcester, built in 1857.  Dvorak played and Caruso sang in this hall, which was restored during the 1970s.
